Abstract

Cabbeng Village is a village located in the Dua Boccoe subdistrict with an area of ​​6.71 km with a population of 1,970 people. It is one of the villages that has fairly advanced UMKM growth, in which there are various kinds of UMKM based on sectors and types of business spread specifically in the culinary sector. Many business people are interested in opening a business in the culinary sector. Not many UMKM in Cabbeng village have applied for halal certification on the grounds that business actors still don't understand. They think that they do not need halal certification, because the products being marketed are already selling well. Business actors' perceptions of halal certification are still relatively common and very difficult to understand because it requires a long process. This is an obstacle for business actors to carry out halal certification. The low interest in halal certification can be related to public awareness factors, especially business actors, and their perception of halal certification which also determines it. Even though it is on a micro scale, considering that snacks are a product that is very close and has been integrated into people's lives for children, teenagers, adults and even the elderly, it is very important to ensure that snack products are halal and guaranteed by the government through halal certification. Moreover, recently the public has become concerned about food, drink and medicine products whose halal quality is not guaranteed, therefore the existence of education and understanding regarding the halal certification process through the Halal Certification program for Micro, Small Enterprises in Cabbeng Village, Bone Regency can help with halal certification quickly and can provide an understanding of the importance of halal certification for UMKM so that they can choose products that are halal, good and can be used in the production process. Apart from that, the assistance that has been provided can train MSEs to be able to improve their abilities in developing technology as support.
