Abstract

Currently, Indonesia, as one of the developing countries, faces a major health challenge, which is the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus. According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2020, non-communicable diseases contribute to 73% of global deaths. One of the issues found in Atamangnge Village is the lack of facilities and infrastructure for health screenings. These diseases are often influenced by an individual's lifestyle, and a healthy lifestyle is the right choice to prevent non-communicable diseases. The goal of this community service activity is to improve the health quality of the elderly related to non-communicable diseases. The methods used in this service are the Community Development and Participatory Appraisal models. The Community Development model focuses on an approach that involves the community directly as both subjects and objects in the implementation of the service activities. Meanwhile, the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) model emphasizes the importance of community involvement in all stages of the activity, from planning and implementation to evaluation. The health screening activity was held on May 15, 2024, at the House of the Head of Atamangnge Village, with 50 elderly participants. The results of this activity showed high enthusiasm from the elderly participants for the health screenings and an increased understanding of the importance of regular health check-ups. As a suggestion, partners are encouraged to collaborate with health institutions to further increase the community's interest and participation in regular health screenings
