Abstract

Petroleum-based plastics have negative impacts on the environment, bioplastics continue to attract attention from researchers, industries, and consumers. One of the main problems in maintaining environmental sustainability is the collection of plastic waste. Worldwide, technologies and strategies to reduce the environmental impact of petroleum products have become a major concern. Plastics made from biodegradable petrochemicals or those made from natural biological materials (bio-derived bioplastics) are called bioplastics. Bioplastics are plastics that microorganisms can naturally decompose into environmentally friendly substances. The method used is a research review study. This article focuses on reviewing environmentally friendly antimicrobial bioplastics as food packaging
